In close cooperation with Maranatha Farm, Dutch entrepreneurs provide part of the local population with meat and eggs through this local chicken farm. After drawing up the right business plan, we set to work together. Hard work pays off, as shown by our success! Employment and meat and egg production in the village have increased considerably. Our farm is now home to 100.000 layer chickens.
The energy we generate for our bio-farm is completely sustainable. Our wind turbine and solar panels provide sufficient energy, which is stored in a battery pack. As a result, we are not connected to the unstable electricity grid. A great example about which we would be happy to advise you.
Farm focusing on the operational part of the operations, from 2015 to 2020 worked for Ethiopia Poultry, during this period started with Debre Holland and built the feed factory, after this I worked for 2 years as a poultry specialist at AgruniekRijnvallei in the Netherlands. Now I am responsible for managing the staff, feed factory and chickens. My drive is to create a good working atmosphere for the staff of both locations and meanwhile also improve the technical results of the chickens. Every staff member we have at work means a family with income. As a family, we also think it is important to show the staff something of the love of Jesus.
In 2022, the Dekalb laying hen was introduced for the first time in Ethiopia. This laying hen has a number of strong advantages that benefit conditions in Ethiopia. This laying hen has high disease resistance, functions well in Ethiopia’s climate and lays beautiful white eggs. The quality of the eggs is above expectations and thus more than meets western standards.
